Early Life
Henry Samueli was born on September 20, 1954, in Buffalo, New York. His parents were Holocaust survivors. He grew up in Los Angeles, California, and developed an interest in electronics early on. He attended the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA) at age 16.
Rise to Success
Samueli earned his bachelor's, master's, and doctoral degrees in electrical engineering from UCLA. He worked at TRW and later became a professor at UCLA. In 1991, he co-founded Broadcom Corporation with Henry Nicholas, focusing initially on chips for cable television modems and broadband internet. Broadcom went public in 1998.

Samueli's focus on research and development in broadband communications and digital signal processing has been crucial. He has also served as Chairman of the Board of Broadcom since 2018. Broadcom's success is rooted in its innovation and commercialization of analog and mixed-signal circuits.
