In 2007, Yu Renrong founded Will Semiconductor, a company aiming to establish a foothold in the semiconductor industry. Initially involved in low-tech distribution, Will Semiconductor strategically acquired OmniVision, a U.S. semiconductor company, in 2019 for $2.2 billion. This acquisition significantly enhanced Will Semiconductor's technological capabilities, enabling it to enter the CMOS image sensor technology market and become one of the world's largest image sensor chip manufacturers.
