Sundar Pichai was born in Madurai, Tamil Nadu, India, on June 10, 1972. Growing up in a modest household, he displayed an early interest in technology and possessed an extraordinary memory. He excelled in his studies, earning a B.Tech in Metallurgical Engineering from the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Kharagpur in 1993.
Pichai's academic journey continued in the United States, where he earned an MS from Stanford University in materials science and engineering and an MBA from the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania. He was recognized as a Siebel Scholar and a Palmer Scholar at Wharton.
Rise to Success
Before joining Google, Pichai worked at Applied Materials as an engineer and at McKinsey & Company as a consultant.
