Shyam Sankar was born in Mumbai, India, and raised in Orlando, Florida. His father, born in Tamil Nadu, was the first in his family to attend college. Sankar earned a Bachelor of Science in Electrical and Computer Engineering from Cornell University and a Master's in Management Science and Engineering from Stanford University. He joined Palantir as the 13th employee and the first business hire in 2006.
