Early Life
Shlomo Kramer was born in Israel in 1966. From a young age, he showed a keen interest in technology, working on mainframes and selling video games and personal computers as early as 15 years old. He served in the Israel Defense Forces' Unit 8200, a renowned cybersecurity and intelligence unit. After completing his military service, Kramer earned a master's degree in Computer Science from the Hebrew University of Jerusalem and a bachelor's degree in Mathematics and Computer Science from Tel Aviv University.
Rise to Success
Kramer is a serial entrepreneur and investor known for his significant impact on the cybersecurity industry. In 1993, he co-founded Check Point Software Technologies with Gil Shwed and Marius Nacht. The company introduced the first firewall to the commercial market and became a global leader in internet information protection. In 2002, he co-founded Imperva, a data and application cybersecurity firm. Imperva went public in 2011 and was acquired by Thoma Bravo in 2019. In 2015, Kramer established Cato Networks, a cloud-based network security provider.
