Robert G. Miller was born in 1943 in Montreal, Quebec, Canada. Little is known about his early life and childhood, but he is a graduate of Rider University. To pay for college, he worked at a snack bar and as a DJ.
Rise to Success
In 1968, Miller founded Future Electronics. He built it into the world's third-largest electronics distributor. Miller bought out his partner in 1976 for $500,000. He then expanded rapidly through inventory stocking, customer service, and global expansion.
Miller's career also includes serving as CEO of Fred Meyer (1991 to 1999), where he merged the company with Kroger, and as Chairman and CEO of Rite Aid (1999 to 2003). He later returned to Albertsons. In April 2024, Miller sold Future Electronics to WT Microelectronics for $3.8 billion.
