Early Life and Education
Otto Toto Sugiri was born on September 23, 1953, in Bandung, West Java, Indonesia. He received a Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering from Institut Teknologi Bandung (ITB) in 1977 and a Master's degree in Computer Engineering from RWTH Aachen University in Germany in 1980.
Rise to Success
Sugiri's career began in 1983 when he joined Bank Bali as IT General Manager, where he developed software to streamline the bank's operations. In 1989, he founded PT Sigma Cipta Caraka, a software company serving Indonesian banks. Sigma Cipta Caraka was later acquired by PT Telekomunikasi Indonesia (Persero) Tbk. (TLKM). In 1994, he co-founded Indointernet (Indonet), Indonesia's first internet service provider. His major success came with the establishment of Data Center Indonesia (DCI) in 2011. DCI Indonesia became the largest data center company in Indonesia, with 52% of the total capacity.

Sugiri's key strategies include identifying and capitalizing on the growing demand for data services and internet access in Indonesia. His focus on technological innovation and providing reliable infrastructure has been crucial to his success. DCI Indonesia became the first company in Southeast Asia to receive the Tier IV Certification of Constructed Facility from the Uptime Institute.
