Michael Cannon-Brookes was born on November 17, 1979, in New Haven, Connecticut, U.S.. His family moved to Taiwan when he was six months old and to Hong Kong when he was three. He later attended Cranbrook School in Sydney and graduated from the University of New South Wales with a bachelor's degree in information systems.
