Miguel Tomás Arrufat Pujol was born in Amposta, Spain, in 1961. He holds a Bachelor of Arts from the Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona and an MBA from IESE Business School.
Rise to Success
Arrufat Pujol's career began in the publishing industry, where he served as the CEO of a Spanish educational textbook publishing house. He then founded Proeduca Altus in 2007, which provides online accredited university courses in Spain, Latin America, and the United States. Proeduca Altus went public in 2019. In May 2025, he sold a portion of his stake in Proeduca Altus for over $300 million. He is also the Managing Director of Universidad Internacional de la Rioja (UNIR).
