Early Life
Sven Hans Martin Lorentzon was born on April 1, 1969, in Åsenhöga, Småland, Sweden. He grew up in Borås and attended Chalmers University of Technology where he studied industrial economics, earning a Master of Science and Engineering degree. He also took economics courses at the Stockholm School of Economics and the Gothenburg School of Business, Economics and Law.
Rise to Success
Lorentzon's entrepreneurial journey began with the co-founding of Tradedoubler in 1999, a digital marketing company that became a leading European marketplace. In 2006, Lorentzon co-founded Spotify with Daniel Ek. Lorentzon invested his own money into the company's early development. He served as CEO from 2006 to 2013 and Chairman of the Board from 2008 to 2016.

Lorentzon's key strategy was to invest in Spotify, which had a freemium model, which converted free users to premium subscribers. Spotify offers a legal and user-friendly streaming service, attracting millions of users worldwide.
Philanthropy

He joined Prince Daniel's Fellowship Project in 2013, visiting schools and universities to encourage entrepreneurship.
