Jeffrey Jackiel Rothschild was born on February 28, 1954, in the United States. He is the son of Beverley and William B. Rothschild. His father was the president of M. Rothschild & Company, an importer of commodities. Rothschild received bachelor's and master's degrees from Vanderbilt University in 1977 and 1979, respectively.
Rise to Success
Rothschild's career began with engineering roles at Honeywell and Intel. In 1988, he co-founded Veritas Software. He co-founded Mpath Interactive in 1995, which went public in 1999. In 2005, he joined Facebook as the Vice President of Infrastructure Software. He played a crucial role in the company's growth and success, and as of 2012, he owned 18 million Facebook shares.
Key Business Strategies
Rothschild's strategic approach involved focusing on the infrastructure of Facebook, ensuring its reliability and scalability to handle the social media platform's massive user base. He was instrumental in designing and stabilizing the backend systems during Facebook's explosive growth.
