Herald Chen's journey began with early aspirations, as he dreamt of running a steel mill. He graduated from the University of Pennsylvania with a dual degree in engineering and finance, which offered him job offers at Procter & Gamble and in Wall Street. Chen chose Wall Street, marking the start of his career in finance.
Rise to Success
Chen joined KKR in 1995, gaining experience in the private equity firm. Chen's experience at KKR gave him opportunities to meet numerous CEOs and CFOs, which allowed him to learn about the finance sector. In 2018, Chen joined AppLovin's board, later becoming CFO. Chen transitioned to advisor for AppLovin's CEO while remaining on the board.
