Georgina Hope Rinehart was born on February 9, 1954, in Perth, Western Australia. She is the only child of Lang Hancock, the iron ore magnate, and Hope Margaret Nicholas. Rinehart spent her early years in the Pilbara region, later attending St Hilda's Anglican School for Girls. She briefly studied economics at the University of Sydney before entering her father's business.
Rise to Success
After her father's death in 1992, Rinehart took over Hancock Prospecting. Despite the company being in debt, she revitalized it. With the iron ore boom of the early 2000s, she became a billionaire. Her flagship achievement is the development of the Roy Hill project.
