Early Life and Early Ventures
Fabian Hedin's entrepreneurial journey began at the age of 10 when he managed a Minecraft server, attracting players from around the world. During high school, he founded and scaled a prop-tech start-up, which he later sold. These early experiences sparked his interest in technology and business.
Education and Early Career
After high school, Hedin moved to Stockholm and attended KTH Royal Institute of Technology, where he studied Industrial Engineering and Management. Before co-founding Lovable, he worked as a Frontend Lead at Depict, an AI company, and also ran a consulting business called TenFAST.
Rise to Success with Lovable
In 2023, Hedin co-founded Lovable with Anton Osika. Lovable is an AI-powered coding tool that enables users to build websites and applications using written prompts. The company launched its 'vibe coding' product in November 2024. Lovable achieved $100 million in subscription revenue (on an annualized basis) in just eight months, making it one of the fastest-growing software startups.
Key Business Strategies
Lovable's success is attributed to its innovative approach to software development, leveraging AI to democratize coding. The platform allows users to build apps and websites without traditional coding knowledge, turning ideas into functional applications through natural language prompts. Hedin emphasizes focusing on what foundational models can do today rather than betting on future improvements.
Philanthropy
Hedin, along with his co-founder Anton Osika, has pledged to donate 50% of their earnings from any future exit of Lovable to charity, supporting the responsible development of AI.
