Early Life
Dustin Aaron Moskovitz was born on May 22, 1984, in Gainesville, Florida. He grew up in Ocala, Florida, and attended Vanguard High School, where he participated in the IB Diploma Program. He then enrolled at Harvard University to study economics but left after two years to work full-time on Facebook.
Rise to Success
In February 2004, Moskovitz co-founded Facebook with Mark Zuckerberg, Eduardo Saverin, Andrew McCollum, and Chris Hughes while at Harvard University. He served as the company's first CTO and later as the VP of Engineering. In 2008, Moskovitz left Facebook to co-found Asana with Justin Rosenstein. Asana launched commercially in April 2012. The company went public in September 2020, with an initial valuation of $5.5 billion. In March 2011, Forbes reported Moskovitz to be the youngest self-made billionaire in the world. He stepped down as Asana's CEO in 2025 to focus on philanthropy.
