David Hindawi was born in Baghdad, Iraq, in 1944, to an Iraqi-Jewish family. In 1951, his family moved to Israel. After completing his education, he served in the Israeli Air Force's Operations Research department. In 1970, he immigrated to the United States, where he earned a PhD from the University of California, Berkeley.
Rise to Success
Hindawi's entrepreneurial journey began with Software Ventures, a telecommunications company founded in 1984 and sold in 1995. In 1997, he founded BigFix Inc., an IT systems management company that was later acquired by IBM for $400 million in 2010. In 2007, Hindawi co-founded Tanium Inc. with his son, Orion Hindawi.
