UHNWI (Ultra-High-Net-Worth Individual)

A person with investable assets of at least $30 million.

UHNWI stands for Ultra-High-Net-Worth Individual. The threshold is generally defined as $30 million or more in net investable assets (excluding primary residence). This classification is used by private banks, wealth managers, and financial institutions to categorize clients requiring specialized services.

UHNWIs are a subset of HNWIs (High-Net-Worth Individuals, with $1 million+ in investable assets). All billionaires are technically UHNWIs, but most UHNWIs are not billionaires. The UHNWI segment is estimated to include roughly 400,000–500,000 people globally and collectively controls a disproportionate share of global investable wealth.
