Zygmunt Józef Krok was born on August 4, 1956, in Radom, Poland. He later adopted the surname Solorz after his first wife. In his early twenties, he moved to Germany, where he established a transport company, laying the groundwork for his future business ventures.
Rise to Success
Solorz's entry into the media market began with the acquisition of a majority stake in the Kurier Polski newspaper in 1992. The same year, he launched Polsat, a free-to-air commercial TV channel. Polsat quickly became one of Poland's biggest television stations. In 1993, Solorz obtained a national commercial television license, solidifying Polsat's position.
