Early Life and Education
Zong Fuli, often referred to as Kelly Zong, was born in 1982 in Hangzhou, China. She spent her teenage years in the United States, attending San Marino High School and later earning a Bachelor of Science degree in international business from Pepperdine University in Malibu, California. Her time in the U.S. shaped her worldview, instilling independence and a global perspective.
Rise to Success
After graduating from Pepperdine, Zong returned to China and joined Hangzhou Wahaha Group in 2004. She started in the company's Xiaoshan No. 2 base, gaining experience in the production workshop, and advanced through the ranks. In 2007, she became the president of Hongsheng Beverage Group, a Wahaha subsidiary, leading it to significant revenue growth. Zong also took on responsibilities for the group's import and export operations.
Key Business Strategies
Zong Fuli's approach to business involves modernizing the Wahaha brand to attract younger consumers. She introduced new marketing strategies, including brand ambassadors, product placement on TV shows, and collaborations with influencers. In 2021, she became the vice chair and general manager of Wahaha Group. As chairwoman and CEO, she is focused on strengthening terminal construction, increasing the number of freezer placements, and improving Wahaha's market share.
Philanthropy
Zong Fuli has also been involved in philanthropic initiatives. In 2024, she donated to establish a food science school at Xi'an Jiaotong University.
