Early Life
Zhong Peifeng, born in 1963, pursued his education at the Georgia Institute of Technology, where he earned a Master's degree in Electrical Engineering in 1988. He later met his wife, Yeeping Chen Zhong, at Georgia Tech, who also earned her Master's in Electrical Engineering in 1989. After graduation, he began his career working for AMITECH and later at Northern Telecom.
Rise to Success
In 2003, at the age of 40, Zhong Peifeng acquired Amlogic for $52 million and assumed the role of CEO, while his wife became the Vice President. The financial backing for this acquisition came from his father-in-law, Chen Haitao. Amlogic, originally founded in 1955, specialized in set-top boxes for smart TVs. Under Zhong's leadership, the company expanded, leading to the establishment of Shanghai Amlogic. A significant milestone was the successful IPO of Amlogic Shanghai in August 2019.
