Rise to Success
In 1996, Zhang transitioned from his role as a pharmacist and ventured into entrepreneurship. He leveraged his experience to identify an opportunity in the burgeoning skincare market, launching Fuerjia, which focused on producing facial masks. These masks quickly gained popularity among consumers. He took Fuerjia public in Shenzhen in August 2023, raising $306 million.
Key Business Strategies
Zhang's success can be attributed to several key business strategies. He built a significant distribution network, selling his masks through various channels, including the aesthetic medical industry, private hospitals, and online platforms. Fuerjia's facial masks are retailed at around $3 each, making them accessible to a broad consumer base. Zhang launched a new skincare line called Huihuxi in 2021. Fuerjia's sales reached $246 million last year, thanks to the popularity of their facial masks, with a net profit of $118 million.
