Zhang Congyuan was born in 1948 in rural Taiwan into a farming family. After completing his education at a junior agricultural college, he started his career in a women's shoe factory, gaining valuable experience in the footwear industry.
Rise to Success
Motivated by an entrepreneurial spirit, Zhang established his own sneaker manufacturing business in the 1980s. Initially, financial constraints led him to set up his first factory on rented land within a pig farm, demonstrating resourcefulness and determination. Recognizing the potential for growth, Zhang expanded his operations beyond Taiwan, establishing factories in Guangdong, China, and later in Vietnam.

In 2004, Zhang founded Huali Industrial Group Co., Ltd., which has since become one of the world's leading sports footwear manufacturers.
