Yang Huiyan was born in 1981 in Shunde, Guangdong Province, China. Her father, Yang Guoqiang, founded Country Garden in 1992. Yang was exposed to the real estate business from a young age, attending board meetings as a teenager. Her upbringing shaped her understanding of business and laid the foundation for her future leadership.
Rise to Success
Yang Huiyan's career began in 2005 when she joined Country Garden Holdings as a project manager. In 2007, her father transferred a 57% stake in the company to her before its IPO, making her the majority shareholder. This transfer made her the richest woman in Asia. She has since been involved in key strategic decisions and has been instrumental in guiding the company through various challenges.
