Warren Beatty Kanders was born in 1957 or 1958. He attended the Choate School and earned a bachelor's degree in economics from Brown University.
Rise to Success
Kanders began his career in mergers and acquisitions at Morgan Stanley and Oppenheimer & Company. He later acquired a group of eyewear stores before entering the defense and law enforcement sector. His investments led him to become chairman and CEO of Cadre Holdings, Inc., a publicly-traded company.
Key Business Strategies
Kanders focused on acquiring and growing businesses in the law enforcement and defense industries. He led Armor Holdings before selling it to BAE Systems. He then bought back some of the businesses under the Safariland brand, later reorganizing them under Cadre Holdings and taking the company public in 2021. Cadre Holdings manufactures equipment for defense, law enforcement, and nuclear safety.

Kanders and his wife Allison are known for their support of the arts, including donations to the Whitney Museum of American Art. The couple has also endowed funds for arts and education.
