In 1975, at the age of 18, Sehgal co-founded the Samvardhana Motherson Group with his mother, initially as a silver trading business. The company pivoted to automotive components manufacturing, forming a partnership with Sumitomo Electric. Sehgal served as Managing Director from 1975 to 1995 and later transitioned to Chairman. Under his leadership, the company has grown significantly through acquisitions and strategic partnerships, becoming a global auto parts manufacturer.
