In 1975, at the age of 18, Sehgal co-founded Samvardhana Motherson Group with his mother, Shrimati Swaran Lata Sehgal, initially in silver trading. The company transitioned to auto components manufacturing after facing challenges, forming a pivotal partnership with Sumitomo Wiring Systems in 1986. Under Sehgal's leadership, Motherson expanded globally, with strategic acquisitions and manufacturing facilities in over 40 countries.
