Early Life and Education
Victor Pinchuk was born in Kyiv, Ukraine, in 1960 to Jewish parents. He graduated with honors from the Dnipropetrovsk Metallurgical Institute in 1983. He earned a PhD in industrial engineering in 1987.
Rise to Success
In 1990, Pinchuk founded the Interpipe Company, leveraging his patented innovations in pipe design and production, which were adopted by leading metallurgical factories. He has also been involved in various philanthropic projects in Ukraine through the Victor Pinchuk Foundation.
Key Business Strategies
Pinchuk is the founder of EastOne Group Ltd., an international investment advisory company and Interpipe Group, one of Ukraine's leading pipe, wheel and steel producers. Interpipe has expanded globally, opening sales offices in key markets. In 2006, he founded EastOne, an investment advisory company. In 2007, Interpipe opened its headquarters in Dubai.
Philanthropy
Pinchuk is known for his philanthropic activities. In 2006, he consolidated his philanthropic efforts under the Victor Pinchuk Foundation, the largest private Ukrainian philanthropic foundation. He joined The Giving Pledge in February 2013, committing to donate half or more of his wealth to philanthropic causes.
