In 1992, he joined Glencore, a Swiss commodities trading powerhouse, and quickly rose through the ranks. He became the Director of Coal and Coke in 2002, succeeding Ivan Glasenberg. Peterson's expertise in commodities trading, risk management, and market dynamics contributed significantly to Glencore's growth and profitability. He owns a minority stake in Glencore.
