Early Life and Education
Todd Boehly was born on September 20, 1973, in Bethesda, Maryland. He attended Landon School in Bethesda, graduating in 1991. He then earned a Bachelor of Business Administration degree in finance from the College of William & Mary in 1996. He also studied at the London School of Economics.
Rise to Success
Boehly began his career at Credit Suisse First Boston, structuring collateralized loan obligations. In 1999, he joined J.H. Whitney & Company and later moved to Guggenheim Partners in 2001. At Guggenheim, he launched the credit investing business, which grew to $60 billion, and assumed responsibility for its asset management business. In 2015, Boehly founded Eldridge Industries, a private holding company, after acquiring assets from Guggenheim. Eldridge has grown to encompass various industries, including sports, media, and entertainment.
