Early Life and Education
Thomas Kwok Ping-kwong was born in Hong Kong on October 6, 1951. He is the second son of Kwok Tak Seng, the founder of SHK Properties. Kwok earned a Bachelor of Engineering degree in civil engineering from Imperial College London and an MBA from the London Business School. He entered the family business after completing his education in the United Kingdom.
Rise to Success
Together with his brothers Walter and Raymond, Thomas inherited Sun Hung Kai Properties in 1990 following the death of their father. Under the joint leadership of Thomas and Raymond Kwok, the company expanded significantly. In December 2011, Thomas Kwok and Raymond Kwok were appointed as joint chairmen and managing directors, consolidating their influence over the property empire. He was also appointed senior director of Sun Hung Kai Real Estate Agency, a subsidiary of Sun Hung Kai Properties, in 2020.

Sun Hung Kai Properties focuses on property development, investment, and management. The company's operations include property sales and rental, telecommunications, hotel operations, and transport infrastructure and logistics. The Kwok family's control of Sun Hung Kai Properties stems from a discretionary trust established by the founder Kwok Tak-seng.
Philanthropy
Kwok is a Christian, and his faith has influenced his philanthropic endeavors. He has been involved in projects such as the Noah's Ark theme park on Ma Wan, reflecting his Christian beliefs. In November 2023, the TPK Kwok Family Charitable Fund donated HK$10 million to support eye care and cataract operations. The fund has been aimed at helping the disadvantaged group and promoting the multi-faceted development of youngsters and children.
