Early Life
Thomas Kaeser was born on August 14, 1953, in Coburg, Bavaria, Germany. He is the third of seven children. He attended Ernestinum Gymnasium in Coburg, and later studied industrial engineering at the Technical University of Karlsruhe.
Rise to Success
After completing his studies and trainee positions in France and the USA, Thomas Kaeser joined the family company, Kaeser Kompressoren, in 1979. In 1985, he became the Managing Partner of the company and was responsible for its international expansion, which began in the late 1970s. Under his leadership, the company has grown to over 7,500 employees and is present in over 140 countries. He has been the Chairman of the Board of Kaeser Kompressoren SE since 2012.
