Thomas H. Bailey was born in 1937. He was born in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, and moved to Leamington, Canada, in 1939. He earned a Bachelor of Arts/Science from Michigan State University and a Master of Business Administration from the University of Western Ontario.
Rise to Success
Bailey's career began on Wall Street, but he moved to Denver, Colorado, in 1969, seeking a fresh perspective on markets. He founded Janus Capital Group, which grew into a major mutual fund company. Janus had remarkable returns during the 1980s and 1990s.
