Suman Munjal was born in 1953. He is the son of Brijmohan Lall Munjal, the founder of the Hero Group. He graduated with a commerce degree from Punjab University.

Suman Munjal began his career at Rockman Cycle Industries Limited in 1975, eventually becoming the CEO in 1983. He has been pivotal in the growth of Rockman Industries, transforming it into a leading manufacturer of automotive components, including aluminum die castings and motorcycle chains. In 1995, he established the auto components division within Rockman, focusing on motorcycle chains, and expanded into aluminum die-cast auto components in 2000. He also serves as a Director on the board of Hero MotoCorp, the world's largest two-wheeler manufacturer.
