Stephen Ketchum's career in finance began with a strong academic foundation. He earned a B.A. from New England College, graduating magna cum laude, and later pursued an M.B.A. from Harvard Business School. This education provided him with the analytical skills that were instrumental in his success within the investment banking and credit markets.
Rise to Success
Ketchum's career progressed through various prestigious financial institutions. He held a Managing Director position at Donaldson, Lufkin & Jenrette from 1990 to 2000. Before founding Sound Point, he was Global Head of Media & Telecom Investment and Corporate Banking for Banc of America Securities (“BofA”). Ketchum's experience and expertise in the credit markets, culminated in the founding of Sound Point Capital Management, LP in 2008. With Stone Point Capital providing backing, Sound Point has grown into a leading credit asset management firm with approximately $46 billion in assets under management, specializing in CLOs and structured credit investments.
