Early Life and Career
Song Zuowen embarked on his entrepreneurial journey in December 1978, during a pivotal period of economic reform in China. He initiated what would become the Nanshan Group, starting in the Shandong province. Under his leadership, the foundation for Nanshan Group was laid, and in 1993, the Shandong Nanshan Aluminium Company Limited was formed. After six years, the aluminum company succeeded in listing on the Shanghai Stock Exchange.
Rise to Success
Zuowen's Nanshan Aluminium Company has captured a significant portion of the aluminum market and has become a leader in the domestic aluminum industry. Song Zuowen expanded the company with interests in fashion, education, tourism, and aviation. Nanshan Textile Apparel is a top provider of worsted and compact spinning fabrics. He has also built Nanshan Aviation College, and Qingdao Aeronautical Co. Limited is under construction. Song Zuowen is also the majority investor in Qingdao Airlines, which launched in April 2014.

The strategic listing of Shandong Nanshan Aluminum on the Shanghai Stock Exchange provided capital and increased the company's visibility. Philanthropy
Song Zuowen has contributed immensely to education through his company Nanshan Education and established Nanshan University recognized by the Ministry of Education of the People's Republic of China. Zuowen has also supported education and promoted sustainable development, making a lasting impact on society.
