Early Life
Solomon Lew was born in Melbourne, Australia, to Polish Jewish immigrants. He attended Mount Scopus Memorial College. His entrepreneurial spirit emerged early, starting his first business, Voyager Solo, at the age of 18, supplying dresses. He later studied accounting and commerce at night school.
Rise to Success
Lew's career is marked by his strategic investments and his involvement in prominent retail companies. He was formerly the chairman of Coles Myer (now Coles Group) but was later voted off the board. In 2008, he returned to the board of Premier Investments and became its chairman. Lew has also made significant investments, including a ten percent stake in David Jones.

Premier Investments, under his leadership, has expanded its brand portfolio, including Smiggle, Just Group and Peter Alexander.
