In 1980, he became the Chief Executive of Bajaj Electricals Ltd. (BEL), and in 1984, he took over as Managing Director, eventually becoming Chairman and Managing Director in 1994. Under his guidance, the company underwent significant restructuring and expansion, becoming a household name.
