Early Life
Savitri Jindal was born in Tinsukia, Assam, India, on March 20, 1950. Her early life was rooted in traditional values. She married Om Prakash Jindal in the 1970s, who later founded the Jindal Group, a steel and power conglomerate. She has nine children: four sons, Prithviraj, Sajjan, Ratan, and Naveen; and five daughters.
Rise to Success
After her husband's death in a helicopter crash in 2005, Savitri Jindal took over the O.P. Jindal Group. Although she had no prior direct business experience, her leadership led to continued growth and diversification. Her sons now run the businesses, yet she remains the guiding matriarch. She also entered politics and served as a minister in the Haryana government.
