Early Life and Education
Samir Mane was born on December 24, 1967, in Korçë, Albania, during the communist regime. He studied geology and mining at the University of Tirana, a path dictated by the state.
Rise to Success
After fleeing Albania in 1991, Mane found opportunities in Austria, initially working as a translator. He established Alba-Trade, importing electronics, and subsequently launched the Neptun retail chain, which became a major electronics network in the region. Mane returned to Albania in the mid-1990s, founding the Balfin Group, which expanded significantly.
Key Business Strategies
Mane's key strategies included investing in retail, real estate, and banking. A significant move was opening Tirana East Gate Mall, Albania's first modern shopping mall. The Balfin Group now operates in over 10 countries with more than 50 companies in various sectors.
Philanthropy
Samir Mane established the Mane Foundation, which supports education, health, and poverty alleviation. He has also been recognized for his philanthropic efforts by Down Syndrome Albania.
