Early Life
Sami Mnaymneh was born in Lebanon and later moved to the United States to pursue his education. He graduated summa cum laude from Columbia University in 1981, as the valedictorian of his class. Mnaymneh then earned a J.D. and an M.B.A., with honors, from Harvard Law School and Harvard Business School, respectively.
Rise to Success
Mnaymneh began his career at Morgan Stanley in the Mergers and Acquisitions department. He also held a managing director position at Blackstone. In 1993, Mnaymneh co-founded H.I.G. Capital with Tony Tamer. H.I.G. Capital is a global private equity firm specializing in providing both debt and equity capital. Under Mnaymneh's leadership as Co-CEO and Executive Chairman, H.I.G. Capital has grown to manage assets.
