Sachin Bansal was born on August 5, 1981, in Chandigarh, India. He attended St. Anne's Convent School in Chandigarh. After excelling in his studies, he gained admission to the prestigious Indian Institute of Technology Delhi (IIT Delhi). He graduated in 2005 with a B.Tech degree in Computer Science and Engineering.
Rise to Success: Flipkart
In October 2007, Sachin Bansal co-founded Flipkart with Binny Bansal. They started the e-commerce venture as an online bookstore. Over the next decade, Flipkart grew exponentially, expanding into various product categories and becoming India's leading e-commerce marketplace. Sachin served as CEO and Chairman during the company's rapid expansion. In 2018, Walmart acquired a 77% stake in Flipkart for $16 billion, and Sachin Bansal exited the company.
