Rolly van Rappard was born in the Netherlands. He holds an LLM from the University of Utrecht and an MA in Economics from Columbia University. His educational background provided a strong foundation for his career in finance and investments.
Rise to Success
Van Rappard began his career at Citicorp, where he worked in corporate finance in London and Amsterdam. In 1989, he joined Citicorp Venture Capital London and was one of the co-founders who spun it off from Citigroup in 1993, forming CVC Capital Partners. Under his leadership, CVC has grown into a global leader in private equity, managing significant assets and investments in numerous companies worldwide.

CVC Capital Partners focuses on private equity investments. CVC has seven complementary strategies across Private Equity, Secondaries, Credit and Infrastructure. The firm has a strong global presence with 30 offices across six continents. Van Rappard played a crucial role in CVC's expansion, overseeing its growth and strategic investments in various sectors, including investments in companies like Petco and Swiss watchmaker Breitling.
