Rita Tong Liu was born in Macau to a family involved in the timber trade. She attended high school in the United Kingdom and later studied Business Administration at Kansas University and New York University in the late 1960s.
Rise to Success
Liu's career in real estate began in 1976 with the founding of Gale Well Group. She initially invested in luxury flats and houses, and later expanded into parking spaces. After the death of her husband in 2003, she transitioned into commercial office spaces, capitalizing on the rising prices in Hong Kong's financial district.

Liu is known for her long-term investment strategy and her ability to identify and acquire prime properties. Her portfolio includes significant holdings in prestigious buildings such as the Grand Millennium Plaza, Shun Tak Centre, and the Far East Financial Centre.
