Rajiv Bajaj was born on December 21, 1966, in Pune, India, to Rahul Bajaj and Rupa Bajaj. He is the great-grandson of Jamnalal Bajaj, the founder of the Bajaj Group. Rajiv completed his schooling at St Ursula High School in Akurdi, Pune. He excelled academically, graduating with distinction in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Pune in 1988. Furthering his education, he earned a master's degree in Manufacturing Systems Engineering, again with distinction, from the University of Warwick in 1990.
Rise to Success
Rajiv Bajaj's career at Bajaj Auto began in 1990, where he gained experience in manufacturing, supply chain, R&D, engineering, and marketing. He became the Managing Director of Bajaj Auto in April 2005. His strategic vision and innovative approach led to significant growth and transformation within the company. He played a pivotal role in reviving the company with the introduction of the Pulsar range of motorcycles.
