Quek Leng Chan was born in Singapore in 1941. He attended Victoria School in Singapore and later pursued legal studies in the United Kingdom, qualifying as a barrister-at-law from Middle Temple. In 1968, Quek joined the family business, Hong Leong Group, co-founding Hong Leong Company (Malaysia) Berhad. Quek serves as the Executive Chairman of Hong Leong Group Malaysia, overseeing its diverse operations. He is also Chairman of Hong Leong Bank Berhad and Hong Leong Financial Group Berhad.
