Pavel Tykac was born on May 15, 1964, in Čelákovice, Czechoslovakia. He obtained an engineering degree from the Czech Technical University in Prague in 1987.
Rise to Success
Tykac's entrepreneurial journey started after the Velvet Revolution in the early 1990s. He began by selling computer technology and co-founded Vikomt company in 1991, which became a major player in the market. In the mid-1990s, he sold his share in Vikomt and used the proceeds to acquire Regiobanka, which he later sold. He then participated in the creation of Motoinvest, which focused on privatization takeovers. Tykac entered the energy sector in 2006 by investing in Czech Coal and became its sole owner in 2010. He expanded his business by acquiring the Chvaletice Power Station in 2013 and rebranded Czech Coal to Sev.en Group in 2017. In 2018, Tykac expanded into the European energy market through Sev.en Energy AG.
