Patrizio Bertelli was born in Arezzo, Tuscany, Italy, on April 6, 1946, into a middle-class family. His father was a lawyer. At age 21, Bertelli started his entrepreneurial journey, founding a leather goods company named Sir Robert.

In 1977, he met Miuccia Prada, and their collaboration revolutionized the Prada brand. Bertelli focused on the business aspects, driving the company's expansion and modernizing its production processes. He implemented new business models, ensuring full control over production and quality. This led to the expansion of Prada into a global luxury brand with over 600 stores worldwide.
