Early Life and Career
Oleg Misevra was born in 1967. His journey began in 1988 after graduating from the Kharkov Academy as an economic engineer. He also has degrees in underground mining and law. He began his career in the Internal Troops of USSR and Russia. Misevra's early career was marked by his ambition and leveraging technical expertise to climb the ranks in the coal mining sector. He also served as Director General at Siberian Coal Energy Co. Baikal-Ugol.
Rise to Success
In the early 2000s, Misevra became a top manager and a minority partner of the MDM Group, which was founded by Andrey Melnichenko and Sergey Popov. In 2002, he was elected as the President of the Siberian Coal Energy Company (SUEK), the largest Russian thermal coal producer. Misevra resigned from SUEK in 2004, and he purchased the company's assets on Sakhalin Island. In 2011, Misevra founded East Mining Co. Ltd., which solidified his status as a coal magnate. He has served as Board Chairman since 2013, which has steered the company toward dominance in Russia's Far East.
