Rise to Success
Gottesman began his career in finance at Goldman Sachs International, where he served as an executive director managing global equity portfolios. In 1995, he co-founded GLG Partners with Pierre Lagrange and Jonathan Green, initially as a division within Lehman Brothers International (Europe). Key Business Strategies
GLG Partners focused on long/short equity strategies. The firm expanded quickly under Gottesman's leadership, leading to a sale to Man Group in 2010 for $1.6 billion. Following the sale, Gottesman founded TOMS Capital LLC in 2012, a New York-based investment firm to manage his personal wealth. He co-founded Nomad Foods in 2014, which is Europe's largest frozen food company.
Philanthropy
Gottesman supports cultural institutions. He is a trustee of Columbia University, a board member of the Tate Gallery Foundation, and a council member of the Metropolitan Museum of Art and the Museum of Modern Art.
