Early Life
Min-Liang Tan was born on November 5, 1977, in Singapore. He is the youngest of four children. He attended Raffles Institution and Hwa Chong Junior College before pursuing law. His parents, Tan Kim Lee, a real estate consultant, and Low Ken Yin, a homemaker, instilled in him the values of hard work and perseverance. Tan is bilingual in English and Mandarin Chinese.
Rise to Success
After graduating from the National University of Singapore Faculty of Law, Tan practiced as an advocate and solicitor. However, his passion for gaming led him to co-found Razer in 2005 with Robert Krakoff. Razer started with high-performance gaming mice and expanded to include headphones, keyboards, laptops, and software. Under Tan's leadership, Razer went public on the Hong Kong Stock Exchange in 2017, propelling him to become one of Singapore's youngest self-made billionaires at the age of 40. Razer has grown to be a global brand with millions of customers.

Tan's business acumen is evident in several key strategies. He emphasizes user-driven design and community engagement, often involving gamers in product development. Philanthropy
Tan is actively involved in philanthropic endeavors. In 2012, he contributed $10,000 to the Wasteland 2 Kickstarter project. He also donated $10,000 and participated in the Ice Bucket Challenge in 2014 to raise funds for ALS. During the global COVID-19 crisis, he initiated a self-funded project to donate surgical masks globally.
