He and his partners acquired a controlling stake in VSMPO-AVISMA in 2012-2014. Under his guidance, VSMPO-AVISMA has become a major supplier to aerospace giants like Boeing, Airbus, and Rolls-Royce. Shelkov also owns Samara Metallurgical Plant (SMZ), a key aluminum producer.
